The Embassy of Spain in Nairobi informs you that the next DELE exams are scheduled for Saturday 25th November 2017 but the registration period ends on Wednesday 11th October 2017. Please note that the exams are also open to native Spanish Speakers. The DELE or “Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera” or Diplomas of Spanish as a Foreign Language, are the official accreditation of the degree of fluency and mastery of the Spanish Language, issued and recognized by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport of Spain. The Instituto Cervantes is the institution in charge of organizing the exams, and works in conjunction with the University of Salamanca, Spain in the preparation, correction and evaluation of all the examinations. As has been for the last few years, the Instituto Cervantes of Spain organizes five (5) examination sittings worldwide; however, in Kenya, the exams take place twice a year, every May and November and are currently administered through the Embassy of Spain in Nairobi with the assistance of Javier Serrano Avilés, the president of the DELE tribunal in this region. The exams normally take place at a venue outside the Embassy, mainly at the United States International University (USIU-Africa). Upon passing the DELE exams, you get an official title/diploma which has an indefinite validity and is internationally recognized. In case you may be interested in pursuing a particular level of Spanish Language accreditation, please refer to the files below to get information about costs, registration dates, examination date and venue as well as the procedure for registering for the said exams.
